February 23, 2010: Dragon’s Den Taps Toronto’s UseMyServices for Upcoming Show

February 23, 2010, TORONTO - Toronto-based entrepreneurs, Joseph Iuso and Brian Crozier, have been selected to appear in an upcoming episode of the hit CBC show, Dragon’s Den.
The duo will get a “once in a lifetime” chance to pitch their company,
UseMyServices, to the “Dragons”, a panel of savvy, multi-millionaire, Canadian entrepreneurs, in the hope that they will be intrigued enough to invest their time and, more importantly, their money, in the company.
The company’s appearance on Dragon’s Den is unusual in that it represents quite a departure from the usual presentation. Typically, ventures chosen for a Dragon’s Den appearance are little more than a dream in search of funding. UseMyServices, on the other hand, is a 7 year old company with a proprietary technology that lets consumers use their online bank account to shop online, without exposing any financial details to anyone.
“We were surprised to be accepted, since we don’t really fit their usual profile” said UseMyServices CEO, Joseph Iuso. “They normally only look at start-ups rather than an expansion situation. But, our technology is really the ‘next generation’ for global payments, so I think they found us interesting even if we are already established.”

The show was actually filmed in mid-2009, and the pair cannot reveal the outcome of their ‘pitch’, but both agreed that it was a great experience.
“The Dragons are such an accomplished group of entrepreneurs,” commented Crozier, who heads up the company’s business development efforts. “It’s amazing that they can even find time in their schedules to do something like this – but it really is such a boost to the entrepreneurial community that this opportunity exists!”
To see how Crozier and Iuso fare with the Dragons, watch the episode that airs March 3, 8PM ET, on CBC.
